Managing Director - Menlo Park, California

Doug Foster is a founder and Managing Director of Longitude Capital. He focuses on investments in both private and public medical device companies for the fund.

From 2004 to 2006, Mr. Foster was a Vice President of Pequot Ventures where he worked in the life sciences practice. Prior to Pequot Ventures, he worked for Pequot Capital Management's Scout Fund, where he managed publicly-traded equity investments across all sectors of the life sciences industry. Mr. Foster has also worked at Novo Nordisk, a pharmaceutical company specializing in treatments of metabolic disorders, including diabetes. He began his life sciences industry career as an Equity Research Associate at Robertson, Stephens & Company in San Francisco.

He is or has been involved with the team’s investments in Alphatec (NASDAQ: ATEC), AqueSys, NxStage Medical (Nasdaq: NXTM), PixelOptics, and Solta Medical (NASDAQ: SLTM), as well as Acufocus and Facet Solutions (acquired).

Mr. Foster holds an M.B.A. from the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University and a B.A. from Yale University.
